Ingredients of Chocolate Gujiya

  1. 1/2 Gram Maida
  2. 150 gram Ghee
  3. Ghee to Fry Gujiya One kg
  4. 2 kg Sugar
  5. 250 ml Water
  6. 2 litre Milk
  7. 100 gram Coco Powder
  8. 250 gram Chocolate
  9. 100 gram Chocolate Chips
  10. Garnish Silver warak, chopped pista and kesar

How to Prepare

  • Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, ghee, and salt. Mix well. Gradually add water to knead into a smooth and firm dough. Cover it with a damp cloth and set aside for 30 minutes.
  • Prepare the Filling: In a heatproof bowl, melt the chocolate chips either in a microwave or over a double boiler. Once melted, mix in khoya, powdered sugar, and cardamom powder until smooth. Add chopped nuts if desired.
  • Shape the Gujiyas: After the dough has rested, divide it into small balls. Roll each ball into a small circle, about 4 inches in diameter. Place a spoonful of chocolate filling in the center of the circle.
  • Seal the Gujiyas: Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges together to seal tightly. You can crimp the edges with a fork or twist them for a decorative touch.
  • Fry the Gujiyas: Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Fry the gujiyas in batches until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove them and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Serve: Allow the gujiyas to cool slightly before serving. You can dust them with powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness.
