Andhra Style Tomato Chutney Ingredients
- 4 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 tsp haldi
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 2-3 green chillies
- 1-2 garlic cloves
- 1/2 tsp jeera
- 1/2 coriander seeds
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 2-3 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
- A handful of curry leaves
- 1 tbsp tamarind paste
How to Prepare Andhra Style Tomato Chutney
- Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, curry leaves, coriander seeds, and garlic cloves. Stir well.
- Add chopped onions and green chilies, and cook until the onions turn golden brown.
- Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric, tamarind paste, and salt. Mix well and Saute for 2-3 minutes.
- Cover the pan and cook the tomatoes until soft. Add red chili powder and fresh coriander leaves, and stir well.
- Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool. Blend it into a smooth paste using a mixer.
- For the tadka, heat oil with mustard seeds and urad dal, then pour it over the chutney. Mix well, and your Andhra-style tomato chutney is ready to serve!
