Andhra Style Tomato Chutney Ingredients

  1. 4 tomatoes, chopped
  2. 1 onion, chopped
  3. 1/2 tsp haldi
  4. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  5. 2-3 green chillies
  6. 1-2 garlic cloves
  7. 1/2 tsp jeera
  8. 1/2 coriander seeds
  9. 1 tsp urad dal
  10. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  11. 2-3 tbsp oil
  12. Salt to taste
  13. A handful of curry leaves
  14. 1 tbsp tamarind paste

How to Prepare Andhra Style Tomato Chutney

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, curry leaves, coriander seeds, and garlic cloves. Stir well.
  2. Add chopped onions and green chilies, and cook until the onions turn golden brown.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric, tamarind paste, and salt. Mix well and Saute for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Cover the pan and cook the tomatoes until soft. Add red chili powder and fresh coriander leaves, and stir well.
  5. Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool. Blend it into a smooth paste using a mixer.
  6. For the tadka, heat oil with mustard seeds and urad dal, then pour it over the chutney. Mix well, and your Andhra-style tomato chutney is ready to serve!
