Soya Chana Dal Bhurji Recipe Ingredients
- 1 Cup Soya granules (soaked and squeezed)
- 1/2 cup Chana Dal (soaked)
- 1/4 tsp Hing
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp Red chili powder
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- to taste Salt
- 1 large Onion, finely chopped
- 1 Tomato, finely chopped
- 1 Green chillies, finely chopped
- 1 whole dry red chili
- 2 tbsp Coriander leaves, finely chopped
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
How to Prepare
- Soak the chana dal for at least 30 minutes. (Alternatively, pressure cook the dal with 3 whistles to reduce cooking time for the Bhurji.)
- Heat oil in a pan, add dry red chilies and finely chopped onions. Saute until the onions turn translucent.
- Add asafoetida and green chilies, then fry the soya granules with the onions and oil to eliminate the raw flavor.
- Stir in chopped tomatoes and cook for a few minutes. Drain the soaked dal, add it to the pan, and mix well.
- Season the Bhurji with red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric, and salt. Stir continuously and add a little water if needed.
- Cook on low flame for a few minutes, then finish with a squeeze of lemon juice. Serve with roti or paratha for a delicious meal.
