Ingredients of Masala Tomato Upma
- 1 Cups Suji
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1/2 cup Tomato Puree
- 1 Tomato , chopped
- Carrot, Capsicum, Peas, Mix veg one cup
- 1/2 tsp Red chilli Powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
- tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Cumin
- 1 tsp Mustard Seed
- 6-7 Curry leaves
- 1 tsp Desi Ghee
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves, finely chopped
How to Prepare
- Heat a pan and dry roast one cup of suji for a few minutes, then set it aside on a plate.
- In the same pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil, add mustard seeds, urad dal, and cumin seeds (jeera), and saute.
- Add one chopped onion and Saute until translucent. Stir in one finely chopped green chili, ginger, and optional vegetables like peas, capsicum, and carrots.
- Next, add half a cup of tomato puree and one chopped tomato. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Add red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, and salt to taste.
- Pour in 3 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Add a small spoon of ghee, then cover and let it cook.
- After a minute, open the lid and slowly add the suji in batches, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- Mix well, then add a few drops of lemon juice and garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Your delicious masala tomato upma is ready to serve!
