Lemon Rasam Recipe Ingredients

  1. Half bowl boiled arhar dal
  2. 1 tomato, chopped
  3. 1-inch ginger, thinly sliced
  4. 2 green chillies, chopped
  5. 4-5 springs of curry leaves
  6. 1 tsp coriander leaves
  7. Salt and sugar, to taste
  8. 1 lemon
  9. 1 Tbsp ghee
  10. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  11. 1 red chilli
  12. Water, if needed

How to Prepare

  1. Boil together tomatoes, ginger, green chilies, a few sprigs of curry leaves, and coriander leaves until they soften and break down.
  2. Once the mixture is mushy, add the cooked dal and season with salt and a bit of sugar to taste.
  3. Adjust the consistency by adding water and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Lower the heat and stir in the fresh lemon juice for a tangy flavor.
  5. In a separate pan, prepare a tadka by heating ghee, mustard seeds, red chili, and curry leaves, then pour it over the rasam.
  6. Turn off the heat and serve the lemon rasam hot.
