Lemon Rasam Recipe Ingredients
- Half bowl boiled arhar dal
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1-inch ginger, thinly sliced
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 4-5 springs of curry leaves
- 1 tsp coriander leaves
- Salt and sugar, to taste
- 1 lemon
- 1 Tbsp ghee
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 red chilli
- Water, if needed
How to Prepare
- Boil together tomatoes, ginger, green chilies, a few sprigs of curry leaves, and coriander leaves until they soften and break down.
- Once the mixture is mushy, add the cooked dal and season with salt and a bit of sugar to taste.
- Adjust the consistency by adding water and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- Lower the heat and stir in the fresh lemon juice for a tangy flavor.
- In a separate pan, prepare a tadka by heating ghee, mustard seeds, red chili, and curry leaves, then pour it over the rasam.
- Turn off the heat and serve the lemon rasam hot.
